Responsibilities
Job Responsibilities may include but are not limited to the following:
- Reviews, analyzes and makes recommendations regarding dockets assigned, including: 1) tariff filings; 2) applications for certificates of convenience; 3) interconnection agreements; 4) applications for video service authorization; and 5) show cause proceedings. This requires analysis of applicable statutes, rules and regulations, prior Commission decisions, prior FCC decisions, cost studies and revenue projections, assessing legal implications and conducting research, and preparing written reports that are articulated and supported in clear and concise language. It also requires communication with upper-level telecommunications company officials, attorneys, consultants and representatives with other public service commissions. These matters require the on-going supervision by the Chief, as necessary.
- Keeps abreast of significant developments and issues affecting telecommunications through reading, research and attendance at meetings, conferences and webinars.
- Objectively reviews, researches and responds to complaints by telephone utility customers which are filed as formal complaints and also assists the Public Affairs and Consumer Protection Office on informal complaints. Specific actions required include written and oral communications with telecommunication company officials and the general public, as well as determining if a general investigation or hearing on the matter should be considered. The Chief supervises the handling of these customer complaints on a case-by-case basis.
Qualifications
- Education:
- Graduation from an accredited four year college or university with a degree in the areas of accounting, economics, finance or business administration.
