Noteworthy Thoughts:

· Prior construction or wiring experience helpful

· Certification in Tower Climbing Safety and Rescue Certification required

· Knowledgeable of OSHA safety standards

· Prior experience installing waveguide, antennas, and microwave dishes

· RF Awareness Training preferred

Tower Technician Job Description

Job Responsibilities:

· Expected to know and be proficient in the Tier I OSP Technician position

· Climbing and working on communications towers for the purpose of installing, replacing, and repairing antenna systems equipment; performs tower maintenance under close supervision.

· The basic use and care of hand tools and mechanical equipment.

· Knowing the hazards associated with tower climbing, construction equipment, and working on or near energized line and equipment

· The ability to climb tall structures (100 feet or more) with 50 lb. load.

· Attention to detail

· Ability to travel extensively throughout the assigned territory

· How to do proper alignment and alignment testing

· Must have a valid driver license due to daily travel within our geographical footprint and maintain insurability through our company policy.

· Compliance with all MetaLINK OSP Standards and Procedures

· Perform onsite customer installations and customer repairs

· Perform job from high places (i.e. poles and roofs) and complete work in elevated position

· The basic use and care of hand tools and mechanical equipment

· Analyzing situations accurately and adopt an appropriate course of action

· Walk over all types of terrain in all kinds of weather while carrying tools and equipment, including, ladders, and fully loaded tool belts.

· Adhere to quality, safe standards a established by Company policies and procedures

· Safety equipment must always be maintained and worn

· Safety gear may include but not limited to: hardhats, safety glasses or face shields, harnesses, appropriate footwear, gloves, tower climbing hear and coveralls and/or appropriate clothing.

· Must be adept to working in adverse weather conditions.

· Responsibilities may require weekend and/or evening work

· Be flexible and receptive to change

· Maintains ground, ensures safety and meat appearance

· Ensures continued preventive maintenance is carried out

· Schedules repairs immediately after a problem is detected
