Qualifications:
o 3-5 year tower technician knowledge.
o Working knowledge of safety standards and regulations.
o Pass a pre-employment drug & alcohol screening with on-going program participation.
o High school diploma or GED.
o Pass background screening.
o Knowledge and ability to operate Test Equipment (i.e. RF sweep gear, PIM and Fiber testing preferred)
o Knowledge of standard knots and ability to read blueprints, details and specifications required
o Must be willing and able to climb up to 500 feet.
o Willingness to obtain certifications such as OSHA 10 or 30, CPR First AID AED, Bloodborne Pathogen, NWSA, Climbing, Rescue, Rigging, Carrier Specific Training, RF Awareness, Fall Protection Training, etc.
Working Conditions:
o Must be able to work in extreme weather conditions if necessary.
o Must have the ability and be willing to travel extensively, as required for job related functions.
Full Job Description:
o Install, maintain, and operate wired, wireless, fiber optic and microwave telecommunications equipment and systems. Provide support in the maintenance and operation of generators, and telecommunication site infrastructures.
Job Responsibilities:
o Perform tower construction activities including, installing antennas, mounting hardware, installing coax and connectors, grounding, testing, positioning, and optimizing antennas and lines.
o Climb cellular towers daily at heights up to and greater than 500 feet.
o Install, connect and test underground and above ground grounding systems.
o Ensure Tower Crew Lead is apprised of construction progress, concerns, and deviations from plans or established schedule.
o Read customer blueprints, and execute Scope of Work (SOP) following customer specifications.
o Perform testing of sites, either as a sweep/PIM tester, fiber test or RET’s set up.
o Ensure that Job Hazard Assessments (JHA) requirements are identified, documented, and followed.
o Identify all materials and other resources needed to complete project.
o Identify construction “punch list” of items to be remedied and ensure they are completed prior to customer’s inspection.
o Maintain and enforce OSHA safety practices, perform daily job-site safety inspections on equipment prior to operation.
o Must be able to work overtime to include Saturdays, Sundays, and evening hours.
o Other projects and duties as assigned.
Compensations:
o Starting pay of $35 an hour.
o Daily travel per diem of $50, this will cover food and beverages for 1 day.
o Hotel accommodations and transportation while active on market.
o Weekly payroll.
o Inhouse trainings.
Schedule:
o 10 hour shifts.
o Monday to Saturday.
o Overtime.
