Traveling Data Cable Technician
United Communication Services is currently seeking traveling data technicians to work on nationwide large commercial construction and remodel projects. Looking for a reliable technician with diverse knowledge of the telecommunications cabling industry.

Ideal candidates should possess great communication skills to frequently correspond with field technicians & office personnel, as well as customers.

Essential duties and responsibilities consist of but are not limited to:

  • Technician will need to be physically able to complete any portion of the installation and needs to be comfortable working 50 to 60 hours a week.
  • Extensive travel is required. Per Diem is provided.
  • Strong knowledge of industry standards (BICSI, NEC, TIA/EIA). Please list certifications if any.
  • Manufacture certifications or a good knowledge of industry products. List Certifications if any.
  • Must be comfortable working unsupervised and or with teams of 2 to 10 other technicians.
  • Able to read and comprehend blue prints and Scope of Work orders.
  • Background and Strong knowledge of the following areas. (When applying please list type of projects and work environment previously worked on):
  • Articulating Boom lifts.
  • Multiple termination types for multi-mode and single mode fibers.
  • 24v and 70v paging systems.
  • Cat6 through Cat6A data cabling.
  • Can neatly dress and terminate large bundles of cables inside IDF and MDF cabinets.
  • Cable pathways
  • Access controls
  • IP Security Cameras.
  • Basic computer skills.
  • OSHA Certifications
  • AV Experience Preferred*

Experience:

  • Minimum 3 – 5 years’ work experience in Structured Cabling or related industry/construction experience.
  • Read, write, and understand English
  • Able to distinguish color codes

Job Types: Full-time, Contract

Pay: $40,000.00 – $80,000.00 per year

Schedule:

  • 12 hour shift
  • Day shift
  • Monday to Friday
  • Night shift
  • Weekend availability

Experience:

  • Cabling: 3 years (Required)

Work Location: On the road
