PROJECT COORDINATOR – Leading Telecom Contractor (FFTH, MDU)

The Company

Our client is a leading telecom FTTH,MDU contractor with 50+ years in the industry. The company prides itself on leading the development of telecommunications networks throughout the GTA region, and with a huge pipeline of work, they are looking to continue attracting those with an interest in Ontario’s future.

The Position

Project Coordinator – Underground telecom projects.

The candidate will support site operations and be comfortable in working alongside supervisors and project management.

Responsibilities

  • Interface directly with the client and other stakeholders to discuss, review and provide consultations for the creation of below-grade services.
  • Responsible for handling documentation for timesheets, subcontractors, materials etc.
  • Collection of pole attachment data by the field surveyors;
  • Attend site meetings with clients and stakeholders as required
  • Liaise with Municipal/Hydro/Other approving authorities for securing permits
  • Assign tasks, budgets and provide support to internal resources for the completion of designs
  • Responsible for ensuring key dates and deadlines are met by internal and external resources to maintain critical project schedules and project completion deadlines for customers including Bell and Rogers.
  • Responsible for maintaining overall project budgets, other costs and invoicing for multiple projects, through the oversight of the manager;
  • Other activities as required.

Requirements

  • Working experience within a telecom setting is preferred
  • Strong problem solving and troubleshooting skills;
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills;
  • The ability to deal with multiple projects and conflicting deadlines and get along with people;
  • Minimum 2 years of telecom or civil work experience would be an asset
  • Familiar with Canadian industry codes, engineering practices, standards, and construction methods.

Preferred Skills

  • Experience with utility companies (i.e., electric, gas, telecom, fibre optic);
  • Contracting work experience
  • Experience in directional drilling
  • Ability to work 50hour weeks

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent

Salary: $55,000.00-$70,000.00 per year

Education:
