Utility Construction Coordinator

CableCom LLC


Reporting to the OSP Construction Manager, the Utility Construction Coordinator is responsible for overseeing and assisting with OSP construction activities for CableCom, LLC for assigned projects. The Utility Construction Coordinator will oversee field productivity, workmanship, and project schedules, and will ensure the safety and regulatory compliance for CableCom, LLC.

Principal Duties and Responsibilities

  • Oversee and facilitate the work activities of Underground, Aerial, Fiber and Resto field Foreman, ensuring an efficient and proper handoff between Foremen on assigned projects. Report deficiencies in workmanship or productivity goals for both internal staff and subcontractors to appropriate management.
  • Primary POC for oversight and management of all sub-contracted projects.
  • Update the electronic OSP schedule, assist with crew allocation and schedule changes on a daily basis. Communicate schedule to staff, as necessary.
  • Ensure that the foremen are entering daily project updates into FieldEase (Field Logs), including project status and crew productivity.
  • Provide daily and relevant updates to PM team, management, and customer contacts.
  • Maintain a frequent physical presence, checking on quality of work, answering questions and advising on any issues that may arise.
  • Respond to in-field customer requests, comments, or complaints in a timely manner. Troubleshoot and resolve issues in a prompt and satisfactory manner.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • Associate’s Degree or equivalent with at least 2 years of supervisory or foreman experience. Experience in Outside Plant construction, telecommunications or related field. Knowledge of OSHA and safety requirements, along with a working knowledge of fiber construction and procedures is required
  • Must have experience reading construction prints
  • Must have a valid driver’s license and be insurable
  • Class A CDL is a plus

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Required

  • Knowledge of heavy equipment, such as rodder and fiber pulling machines, air compressors, fiber blow machines, etc.
  • Ability to work independently, manager multiple tasks, set priorities, manage time effectively, and meet deadlines.
  • Ability to utilize a PC with various software applications (Microsoft Suite, Outlook) relating to project management.

Pay: $31.00 – $35.00 per hour

Schedule:

  • 8 hour shift
  • Monday to Friday
