Utility Field Services Technician

GENERAL SUMMARY: To provide reliable reachability support for the Smart Grid Meter network. Smart Grid Meter (SGSM) Radio Frequency (RF) Technician (Tech).

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

· RF Coverage Investigations for AMI & DA end-points

· Support the RF Reachability analysis initiative, including the installation of MOP devices, antenna meters, MV90’s, & R100’s etc.

· Orphan Meter Investigation-locating orphan meters

· Conduct semi-annual prevention maintenance on Tower Gateway Base Stations (TGB’s) & R100’s & M400’s as needed

· Provide oversite for TGB antenna changeouts doing corrective maintenance

· Battery Replacement

OTHER REQUIRED DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

· This position requires excellent computer skills.

, Military radio frequency career field is a plus

· This position requires general understanding of applicable standards, methods, processes & practices as related to the management & operation of 900 MHz RF Systems.

· This position requires general proficiency in standard software application (e.g., Microsoft Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint, Project).

· This position requires you to be customer driven with good oral and written communication skill.

· This position requires a lot of walking, climbing and frequent in out of company vehicle.

· The position requires a lot of drive time to and from accounts and back to office.

· This position requires the employee to bend at the knee.

· This position requires some over the head reaching for electrical meters.

· This position requires to work in all climates of weather.

· All work is field related (100%)

· Hours of work 10-hour shift

· Push or Pull up to 50lbs

EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS

High School Diploma
