VOICE ENGINEER PROFILE
Experience needed:
- Minimum 3 years related experience working with MS Teams, Direct Routing and other M365 workloads such as Exchange, O365, Sharepoint, One-Drive.
- Minimum 4 years related experience in Telecommunications and Voice Telephony solutions such as Oracle (ACME) SBCs, AudioCodes SBCs, Ribbon (Sonus) SBCs.
Qualifications:
- In-depth knowledge of enterprise voice concepts and strong knowledge of PSTN services such as SIP trunking, SIP Signaling, Message Header Manipulation, SBC’s setup and configuraiton, Dial Plans, Voice Policies, Unified Messaging, audio gateways, location based routing, emergency calling and audio conferencing.
- SBC-Session Border Controller and Voice Gateway configuration experience (i.e. Oracle, Cisco, Audiocodes, Sonus, in that order of preference).
- Expertise in enterprise voice configurations, policies, and routing over a complex WAN infrastructure (SBC, SIP, Media Gateways, VoIP, H.323, PBX, QoS), video and mobility.
- Good understanding of cloud concepts especially relating to Microsoft Azure AD, Azure AD Connect and MS Teams.
- Building plans and policies for Microsoft Teams and associated voice and video communications services, strategies and technologies.
Additional Required Skills:
- Experience with migrating users from Skype for Business Enterprise Voice to Microsoft Teams would be an asset.
- Background or experience with other telephony vendor platforms such as Cisco, Unigy, IPC, Avaya, Mitel.
- Experience in voice and information technology solutions design and service management including SBCs and SIP Trunks.
- Good understanding of network concepts including TCP/IP subnetting, voice policies, Trunking, routing, SMTP, DNS, DHCP, etc.
- Project management skills
- Hands-on experience in Active Directory, load balancing, reverse proxy, DNS, certificate and related components.
- Knowledge on PowerShell scripting.
- Excellent communication skills in writing, presenting, informing and active listening, team player, excellent people skills, out-of-the-box thinker, and ability to interact with all levels of resources in an organization.
- Demonstrated ability to collaborate across multiple teams and achieve results.
- ITIL based work execution (Incident Management, Problem Management and Change Management)
- Certification in related areas is preferred
Educational Requirements:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Computer science/Engineering or the equivalent experience
- Certification in MS technologies and/or IT Project Management, a plus
Languages:
- English required
- Fluency in French is a plus
Job Type: Fixed term contract
Pay: $49.04-$60.00 per hour
Schedule:
- 8 hour shift
Ability to commute/relocate:
- Montréal, QC: reliably commute or plan to relocate before starting work (required)
