Team Overview and Job Responsibilities:
- Prepare product development designs for new / enhanced products.
- Assess plant capabilities related to new product development.
- Prepare recommended sample / test plans for manufacturing qualify, internal test labs and third-party approval agencies.
- Responsible for third party (UL, ETL, CSA, ISO, etc.) submittals listings and final approval adopting the widest range of approval that can be granted.
- Develop DTC plans with R&D support and implement to meet plan.
- Prepare design documentation for factory level experimental trials/product development concerning new compound implementation and associated cable products.
- As appropriate, participate in factory level experimental trials concerning new products and compound implementation.
- Maintain and measure monthly new product development sales.
- With Purchasing maintain and measure monthly DTC savings
- Maintain strong operating knowledge of appropriate industry standards and including all updates as well as UL, CSA and other certification listings.
- Coordinate with Materials Development Laboratories to ensure all new materials are properly approved.
- Conduct/Maintain Product Design Reviews and Audits required by customers to meet product qualification.
- Create/maintain product designs and costs, and general product description/drawings.
- Review customer/industry specifications to determine capability of the Prysmian group facilities to meet the requirements.
- Utilize the cable design tools (Cable Builder, Common Analisi and/or other) to create BOMs and routings for manufacturing of Prysmian Group products at its facilities.
- Develop and analyze costs for quotations/production. Develop benchmarking analysis when requested for comparisons between facilities.
- Interaction with Commercial and Manufacturing personnel for processing requests in the most expeditious manner.
- Maintain in Design system(s) all process guidelines with all current prescribed changes and ensure strict adherence for design requirement.
- Maintain and update products lines when necessary.
- Evaluate and propose innovative ideas for new products and product enhancements.
- Act constructively as a team player on technical teams supporting special projects to improve production efficiencies, continuous improvement, and product and process development. Provide the Technological function with required assistance for process and product development.

· PC and systems skills
Qualifications:
- BS degree in Engineering – required.
- Minimum of two (2) years of manufacturing experience working in fiber optic product/design engineering or similar – required.
- Knowledge of fiber optic cable and assembly manufacturing processes – preferred.
- Knowledge of six sigma problem solving fundamentals. Certification preferred.
- Must have valid US Passport or ability to obtain one quickly – required.
