Our work depends on Systems Engineer Advisor joining our team to support the DHA LAN/WLAN Modernization Program. You will provide support for the expansion, modernization, or replacement of wired LAN and Wireless LAN infrastructure at MTFs and associated outlying medical facility locations. We are hiring an Wire/Wireless Network Systems Engineer to work in Sierra Vista, AZ with locations across the Continental United States (CONUS) and Outside the Continental United States (OCONUS).

HOW A WIRE/WIRELESS NETWORK SYSTEMS ENGINEER ADVISOR WILL MAKE AN IMPACT

• Creates plans and configures systems for data communication networks.
• Evaluates communications technologies to enhance capabilities of the network.
• Survey, design/engineer, installation, and implementation of network systems.
• Validates LAN/WLAN hardware/software configurations, operating systems versions, and any site-specific configurations
• Configure routers, switches, and firewalls for LAN and WLAN systems with appropriate network engineering and communications protocols.
• Coordinates LAN/WLAN hardware/software improvements and/or enhancements.
• Provides innovative methods and technical solutions using the engineering design process.
• Plans implementation of enhancements.
• Analyzes customer requirements and provides technical solutions to a wide range of difficult problems.
• Maintains network integrity and connectivity while ensuring compliance with policies and maintains system backup and recovery capability.
• Coordinates the acquisition of hardware.
• Maintains current knowledge of relevant technology as assigned.
• Provides guidance and leadership experience to team.

WHAT YOU’LL NEED TO SUCCEED:

• Education: Bachelor of Science degree from ABET accredited institution
• Required Experience: 15+ years of experience
• Required Technical Skills: Experience in two or more of the following technologies:
• Power and electrical systems
• Copper cabling/ Fiber optics
• Enterprise systems
• Data centers
• Test and evaluation
• Grounding, bonding, and shielding
• Inside and outside plant telecommunications
• Wireless and 5G systems

Security Clearance Level: T3 Investigation with Secret clearance

• Certifications: IAT Level II certification
• required Skills and Abilities: Communication skills, Problem solving, Attention to detail
