Who are we?

Our mission is simple – everyone deserves better broadband. In 2009 we saw those with rural roots were dogged by slow speeds and inconsistent connection. Apparently, nothing could be done. But we could fix the problem! Our ambition was to build the largest non-urban broadband network for hard-to-reach communities across the UK. And over a decade later, we are proud to be a go-to specialist for reliable, rural broadband.

The Role:

As an Airband wireless engineer, you will enjoy working in a varied environment. You will be out on the road traveling to sites throughout the Devon area delivering a high level of installation, servicing, and repair work to our wireless infrastructure.

Our wireless engineers typically have a flexible working approach, thrive on solving problems under time pressure, are comfortable working at heights, have networking skills, and have high levels of commitment and customer focus to deliver solutions that work. They are also able to motivate themselves to meet tight deadlines, always ensuring work is completed to a high standard whilst health and safety standards are met.

We want to make sure all our engineers are supported and have a chance to progress their careers, so we provide specific training to ensure you keep up to date with relevant technology.

Day to day responsibilities:

  • You will be representing Airband at ground level by installing/maintaining fixed wireless customers
  • Troubleshooting customer issues when a service visit is required
  • Liaising with both colleagues and customers; keeping in regular contact with office staff
  • Being punctual and conducting all work to high standards of neatness
  • OOH on-call work be required on a rota basis
  • Ensure the appropriate H&S is adhered to
  • Correct use of safety equipment and procedures

We are looking for people who are comfortable with the following:

  • Correct use of safety equipment and procedures
  • An understanding and some experience of IT networking (TCP/IP, LAN, WAN, Switches, Routers, PoE)
  • Motivation to work alone but also be a great team player
  • Ability to analyse and solve problems whilst under pressure
  • Comfortable working at heights
  • Self-motivated with a high degree of initiative
  • A genuine interest in the IT sector with the ability to suggest and implement new technologies as they emerge
  • Able to manage your own workload and hit the ground running.

Certificates/tickets Required (training will be provided if you do not hold these certificates/tickets):
