Wireless Telecommunications Engineer

The Wireless Telecommunications Engineer will provide design and field integration oversight for Cellular, Public Safety Radio and Private LTE networks.


Duties/Responsibilities:

  • Provide project scoping, detailed design and integration support for Cellular, Public Safety Radio Distributed Antenna Systems and Private LTE networks.
  • Provide technical support and design engineering for system additions or enhancements at client sites.
  • Perform site walkdowns and develop project scope of work and estimates to support business development activities.
  • Provide operations support and system troubleshooting for Wireless Carriers (AT&T, Sprint, T-Mobile & Verizon) interface into the DAS network. Ensure that the necessary diagnostic and troubleshooting tools are available and in working order.
  • Stay current on DAS & Private LTE technology practices and principles of installations, monitoring and maintaining as well as other RF Transmissions Systems.
  • System Testing Oversight
    • RF sweep test with Anritsu Test Equipment
    • Fiber Optic Cable testing and interpreting OTDR results
    • Carrier Wave Testing
    • RF Walk Testing with Rhode Schwartz or similar equipment
    • PIM testing and post processing of PIM test data

Requirements:

  • Prior experience with designing, operating and troubleshooting DAS networks. Familiarity with major product manufacturers such as CommScope, JMA, ADRF is a plus.
  • Experienced user of Microsoft Office Applications (Outlook, Excel, Word, Project, Power Point).
  • iBwave certification
  • Travel to project sites is required


Preferred:

  • Bachelor’s Degree from a four-year college or University in Engineering or a related technology field.
  • 7 – 10 years experience with design and integration support for various cellular networks is a plus.
