Are you interested in troubleshooting both software and hardware issues? If physical and logical network infrastructures excites you then keep reading. Your knowledge in routing, switching, optical, and security infrastructures including firewalls, VPNs, NAT, open-source network monitoring and security platforms will assist us in overseeing the day-today operations of the network. The Network Operations Centre Analyst role actively monitors and reports data on the company’s network and day-to-day Network Operations matters and NOC projects.
Responsibilities:
- Ensure the day-to-day operation of Beanfield Metroconnect’s network
- Monitor system alarms, analyze severity and perform initial triage
- Open Incident Ticket based on alarms and escalate to other teams if required
- Follow the proper escalation process based on the severity of the incident/alert
- First responder (24/7) to any network instability events
- Should be flexible to work rotational shift to cover 24x7x365 shifts
- Take ownership of assigned tasks and follow KB instructions for any standard process
- Oversee vendor support requests
- Coordinate maintenance or network outage activities with internal and external teams as required
- Coordinates and schedules software upgrades on existing network devices
- Software installation and pre-configuration for new network device installations
- Validate configuration change request from support and provision tickets before implementation
- Ensure network stability before, during and after maintenance and upgrade activities
- Assist with escalations from the Technical Support Resource team for customer BGP traffic engineering, LANX or Wave or general troubleshooting
- Establish and maintain peering sessions with Internet Exchange
- Maintains and creates new network documentation
- Provides coaching and training for the Technical Support Resource Team
Skills & Qualifications:
- High school diploma with a post-secondary degree or diploma in network security and/or administration
- 2-3 years of relevant work experience as a NOC Support Representative or Field Technician position (preferred)
- Knowledge of ticketing systems is considered an asset
- Strong troubleshooting and decision making abilities
- Client-focused
- Ability to create process documentation
- Team player who takes initiative shares knowledge, and assists with coaching and training
- Open to working various shifts in a 24×7 environment
- Bilingual (French & English) is an asset
