GENERAL ACCOUNTABILITY

Reporting to the Senior Manager, Program Manager with direction from Broadband Program and Project Managers and the Program Sponsor, this position is accountable for effectively managing materials required for multiple projects ensuring client satisfaction, to ensure completion of project deliverables on budget and within schedule. Responsibilities include participating in cross-functional project teams, defining and documenting requirements, issue resolution, effective material allocation, establishing and managing materials to meet the project schedules and budgets.

SPECIFIC ACCOUNTABILITIES

Develop material plans, schedules and, objectives based on direction provided by the Program team or Project Team as determined by project planning and day to day work activities.

Ensure material deliverables meet schedule, budget, and quality goals.

Create and manage alliances with all project stakeholders.

Identify and resolve material issues and manage all aspects of the material required for the successful completion of the projects.

Manage and administer material budget and expenses.

Develop or provide input into business cases for follow-on projects and on-going business processes, for items outside the project scope but which are related to the project.

Implement material project tracking mechanisms and status reporting to project sponsors and senior management.

Perform risk assessment analysis and develop risk mitigation plans associated with materials for projects.

Ensure projects are conducted using quality principles and appropriate project management methodologies.

Advise clients on the impact of proposed business changes on material plans and status.

Drive the material requirements gathering process, document the results, and recommend innovative options and solutions to stakeholders.

Manage project development, testing, and implementation activities, as required.

Manage, co-ordinate and organize cross-departmental project teams for material planning, ordering and delivery as well as returns. Participate and co-operatively work with project team and department team members by clearly defining the roles for all stakeholders, including team members, sponsors, and steering committees.

Develop procedures for communicating material status, and issue management resolution & escalation.

KNOWLEDGE AND COMPETENCIES REQUIRED

BA or BS in Science, Engineering, Business or equivalent experience.

Minimum of one-year project management experience including leading cross-departmental project teams.

Knowledge of relevant programming standards and best practices.

Strong communication skills.

Strong planning, organizational, analytical and problem-solving skills.

Strong business acumen and financial analysis skills.

Proficiency with project management software, specifically SAP.

Ability to work in a matrix reporting structure.

PMP (Project Management Professional) Certification would be an asset.

Telecommunications experience would be an asset.
