Computer Networking Technicians are called “network mechanics” because of their ability to solve problems in all kinds of network environments. Since just about every business depends on computer networks, computer networking technicians can find job opportunities in every sector. You will be delivering curriculum that develops student skills in IT infrastructure support and service, information systems, network or systems administration.

CISCO CCNA/IT Essentials Instructor certification preferred.

Microsoft Server, Security, Linux, Python experience preferred.

Your role as a full time instructor at SaskPolytechnic will be supported through instructional materials, ongoing employer provided training, and our required Adult Teaching & Learing program. This initiative will develop our instructors professionally while ensuring a high quality learning experience for all SaskPolytech students.

Job Duties

1. Individual and small group instruction of students, demonstration of procedures and equipment use, accommodate different learning styles using a variety of resources and administer performance tests to verify student learning.

2. Management of the outcome based learning system: monitor student progress on charts and forms, counsel students on performance levels, monitor student employability skills.

3. Physical maintenance of the outcome based learning environment: inventory and order supplies, materials and equipment so that the learning environment supports student needs and program requirements, operate and maintain program equipment, monitor equipment and material use by students.

4. Curriculum development: create and revise course manuals incorporating support media such as texts and audio-visual materials, determine testing criteria and prepare performance and written tests as required.

QUALIFICATIONS, SKILLS, ABILITIES AND EXPERIENCE

Required Qualifications, Skills and Abilities (QSA)

1.Degree in Electrical/Electronic Engineering OR Diploma from a recognized technology level program OR an equivalent combination of formal education and related experience.

2. Two years recent/relevant experience in Network administration with Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA). Windows 2016 Server and Managing Network, Python, A+, CCNA Cybersecurity, Linux+, and Linux Server+, and IT project management. Experience in telecommunications will be an asset.
