Telecommunications Technician

GNG SOLUTIONS is looking for Telecom Technicians. Each technician operates as an employee or individual contractor and is paid as piece work.
We perform the installation and repair of DSL, Phone, IPTV (copper and GPON) for a major Canadian Telecom company.

Candidates should be comfortable with operating laptop to perform various signal and equipment tests and experience in operating hand tools (i.e. Screw drivers, Battery operated drills, wire testers, etc.). Job duties include:

• Install, remove and maintain various telecommunications equipment and related systems such as CCTV camera systems, security alarms, data network, telephones, audio video systems and other telecommunications equipment
• Meeting with customers on a daily basis to diagnose an issue
• Install of fiber optic cabling and knowledge of I&R, GPON, ADSL and POTS
• Inspect and test operation of telecommunications equipment
• Establishes voice and data networks by running, pulling, terminating, and splicing cables; installing telecommunications equipment, routers, switches, multiplexors, cable trays, and alarm systems
• Diagnose and locate equipment faults, and adjust, replace or repair telecommunications equipment
• Install, maintain and repair household and business electronic equipment such as alarm systems, video systems, Ethernet wireless and wired networks, computer equipment and peripherals
• Installation and service of electronic/electrical systems
• Perform regular tests on systems to ensure all components are running well.
• Keep track of inventory and supplies of equipment
• Optional: Travel to remote locations all over lower mainland B.C. for service and installation projects

Salary: Piece Rate only

License: Valid Driver’s is Required

Experience: No Experience required. We will train.

Good communication skills in English are required
