CONTEXT
Experienced senior network engineer or senior Telecom technician is needed within 3rd level support group on devops and system Infra for voice and mobile. Candidates will have proven expertise in managing a network environment across numerous geographical locations. Candidate should be experienced in complex network deployment and support in a multi-technology’s environment.
SUMMARY OF FUNCTIONS
The duties of the Senior Technical Specialist are to apply, on a non-exclusive basis:
- Technical principles to the planning
- Development and implementation of telecom system projects
- To conduct studies on new telecom technologies
- To prepare specifications, evaluate bids and negotiate with suppliers
- To forecast and coordinate technical requirements pertaining to equipment installation
- Provide technical expertise & support to other groups.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering or Diploma of collegial studies (in telecommunications or computer science) with related experience.
- 5 to 10 years of relevant experience in Telecom as Tier-3 support.
- Good knowledge Linux / Unix administration mandatory.
- Linux / Unix Systems Scripting (shell script, perl, python …) mandatory
- Database management skills an asset (MongoDB, REDIS, Oracle, MySQL …)
- Knowledge of ELK stack, watchers and painless scripting mandatory.
- Knowledge of message queuing system such as RabbitMQ or Kafka mandatory.
- Knowledge of SS7 (ISUP, SCCP, TCAP, LNP) including Sigtran (SS7oIP).
- Strong interpersonal skills and team player.
- Experience in software development and implementation an asset (OS installation, scripting and reporting languages, perl, shell script, etc)
- IP load balancing and Firewall families (HA Proxy, Zevenet, SRX, Cisco, Big-IP, Palo Alto… )
- Good level of network security
- AWS Cloud or VMware or RedHat computing is an advantage
- Knowledge Internal tools and systems of TATA is an Advantage, (moloch, polystar, healthcheck, pmexel, ELK Stack, RMQ, MMX …)
- Very good judgment,
- Very good technical background to interface with equipment vendors
- Very good knowledge of spoken/written French and English.
- On call availability 24/7
- Must be available for travelling
