Construction Labourer

Job description

Responsibilities:

• Digging holes and trenches
• Pulling cable
• Operating equipment and tools
• Provide assistance with general site preparation and clean-up as directed
• Handle and distribute construction materials, as well as safe loading and unloading vehicles with supplies and equipment as directed
• Able to run gas and power equipment (i.e. saws, drills, jumping jacks)
• Able to assess the work environment for potential health and safety hazards
• Removal of all debris from work sites
• Assist with traffic control as directed
• Other duties as required

Qualifications:

• High school diploma or relevant experience
• + 6 months of related experience in the construction industry
• Good verbal communication skills and able to work with others
• Ability to safely operate/dig using a mini-excavator around underground utilities is a definite asset
• Must be able to safely lift 23 kg (50 lbs)
• Must be able to speak, read and write in English
• Demonstrated commitment to health and safety and willing to receive applicable health and safety training as per legislative and job requirements
• Ability to follow instructions
• Must be able to work in restricted and tight spaces and at heights
• Must have a valid G Driver’s License or equivalent with a good driver’s abstract
• AZ/ARZ drivers license an asset
• Experience in telecommunications construction an asset

Must be willing to complete an online criminal record check to company satisfaction
