Wiretap Telecom is seeking a telecommunications consultant who can assist our team with developing a new PSTN -> VoIP gateway product. This is a temporary consulting position which could be extended longer term. Initially, this contract position can be remote and will be consultative. This position will be a senior level position and will have no expected hours of consulting as this is a needs-based opportunity. A subject matter expert is desirable with the person willing to collaborate and share knowledge with our technical team.

Responsibilities:

Initially, this consultative position will be compensated for sharing knowledge and acting as a subject matter expert (SME) in the telecommunication space. More specifically, with SS7/SIGTRAN related hardware. The qualified candidate must have experience with provisioning and deploying SS7/SIGNTRAN based telecommunications hardware and configurations. Preferably, the candidate will be willing to temporarily travel to our data centers in Dallas, TX and Atlanta, GA to assist with the setup and installation of a redundant SS7/SIGTRAN signaling hardware solution. Ongoing support is an option for the qualified candidate.

Knowledge:

The candidate must have experience and knowledge with SS7/SIGTRAN multimedia gateway systems. We’re looking for a SME to provide input regarding NPAC and DID provisioning within VoIP communication systems in a facilities-based environment where the VoIP provider is a LEC and a seasoned SIP trunking provider for business across the United States. The qualified candidate must have the requisite experience to assist in hardware purchases and deployment.

Qualifications:

The candidate must have verifiable experience with directly configuring SS7/SIGTRAN gateway systems with PSTN -> VoIP Gateway translations, including NPAC (number porting) experience.
