Description of Role

SRI Telecom is seeking an experienced Technical Project Manager with relevant broadband ISP engineering & CMTS technical project experience to contribute to all areas of expertise with various cross functional project teams. You will assist deployment engineers as work to deploy the new virtual CMTS throughout the West Division of Comcast. Using your strong Excel knowledge, you will download current milestone data from workflow tools and process the information to help you engineers know where they need to focus to keep the projects moving. You may even present your data and your dashboards to upper management. Logging into the new vCMTS may be necessary just to confirm console connectivity.

Your past headend, capacity or network experience working with CMTS and inside plant will help you shine because of your fundamental understanding of how it all works!

Responsibilities

• Host cross functional project meetings with CI, SIT, National Program Managers, Headend.
• Build strong relationships with the teams to help drive buy-in and accomplish goals.
• Own your Plan of Record (Project Genesis), review data, decide on timing, problem solve and ask the right questions to drive a timeline.
• Basic console access to the equipment will be necessary but nothing further such as configurations.
• Most likely focus on the Twin/Houston markets but may change to other markets.
• Work with cross-functional teams to retrieve updates and track projects and status.
• Maintain Data Integrity across data bases using v-lookup and other comparison tools.
• Perform general data mining to generate visual reports to key stakeholders.
• Learn and develop an understanding of all systems, tools and processes (i.e. reporting, capacity and ticketing tools, etc.) that support workflow of projects. Suggest improvements.

Skills

• Aptitude and Attitude are key.
• Broadband ISP engineering experience is strongly preferred, especially the CMTS platforms.
• Must be able to speak to your experience managing many fast-moving projects concurrently.
• Must be able to speak to your experience driving projects to completion.
• Must be able to speak to your experience keeping project calls on point and squashing rabbit holes.
• Must be able to track and report on milestones, what is a risk of missing and why.
• Must be able to speak to your experience managing large amounts of data in Excel.
• Must have strong analytical and numerical skills.
• Must have strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Must be organized, detail oriented and personable.

Work Schedule

Monday through Friday 8 am – 5 pm in an office environment.

Salary

This position pays an average of $52.79/hour on up, depending on experience.
