Northrop Grumman, Strategic Space Systems Division, has an opening for a Staff Industrial Engineer to join our team of qualified, diverse individuals. This position will be located in Redondo Beach, California.
Responsibilities:

Provides strong Industrial engineering leadership, mentorship, and expertise for other organizational members, cross functional teams, and projects

Analyzes large data sets and existing operational processes to develop metrics and reporting for optimization and process improvement of program & operational performance.

Develops and implements plans that ensure the timely availability and effective utilization of labor, facilities, equipment, & tooling resources enabling the achievement of program delivery and cost milestones.

Provides capacity planning, shop-loading and staffing analysis for functional production teams.

Conducts studies pertaining to cost control, cost reduction, inventory control, and production record systems.

Develops and summarizes analyses for the acquisition, maintenance & enhancement of capital assets and equipment.

assist facilities engineers in the planning and design of facilities and layouts

maintain and enhance factory simulation models and uses these models to support what if analyses and capacity planning

Flexible Schedules: For example, some roles offer the ability to work a 9/80 work schedule, which allows an employee to work a nine-hour day Monday through Thursday and take every other Friday off of work
Basic Qualifications:
-
Bachelor’s Degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) discipline plus 14 years of engineering experience OR Master’s Degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Math (STEM) discipline plus 12 years of engineering experience

Proficient in MS Office Suite
-
Experience with data visualization and dashboard creation (Tableau, Power BI)
-
Experience in using shop floor production systems (Solumina, MES, etc.)
-
Experience in using ERP systems such as SAP
-
Proven leadership experience on a team and/or multiple projects
-
Experience and knowledge of Lean Manufacturing (VSM, Kaizen) and Agile project management
-
Ability to obtain and maintain a DoD Top Secret Clearance OR SCI Access
Preferred Qualifications:
-
Capacity and scheduling simulation experience (Simio, or other simulation software)
-
Experience with data science and analytic software (Alteryx)
-
Report programming experience (SQL, Crystal, MS Query, Bus. Objects, etc.)
-
Documented experience working in a robust IPT environment
-
Experience with AutoCAD or Visio software
-
Experience performing Earned Value Management
