The National Accounts Vice President, Financial Sales Lead is responsible for ensuring we maximize our financial proposals in for case-level responses in the National Accounts self-funded segment (5000+ eligible employees, multi-site). This position will focus on clearly articulating our value proposition in the market. The individual in this role will have a deep understanding of National Accounts market, excellent strategic thinking capacity, strong financial skills, and the ability to execute operationally.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Ensure accuracy and clarity in case-level financial summaries that are released externally during the bid process
  • Lead opportunity level discussions with consultants and prospects that effectively communicate UnitedHealthcare’s financial proposals
  • Clearly articulate the value of UnitedHealthcare’s clinical, advocacy, payment integrity, and out-of-network solutions in the market at the case-level
  • Ensure the complete and accurate evaluation of UnitedHealthcare’s financial proposals during the bid process
  • Set and executing the financial strategy for National Accounts RFPs and partner with underwriting to execute on that strategy
  • Recommend needed improvements to our financial proposals during the bid process
  • Lead National Accounts RFP administrative functions; optimize RFP processes and ensure compelling and resonant RFP responses
  • Hire, develop, and lead a team of professionals that oversee the management of proposal responses
  • Support development of UnitedHealthcare’s Employer & Individual value story

Required Qualifications:

  • BA/BS degree and/or related field
  • 10+ years health industry large employer market experience
  • Demonstrated experience working with employers in the market in prior selling, client management or consulting capacities
  • Demonstrated business acumen in financial analysis, reporting and forecasting and solid understanding of health benefits, health services and medical delivery operations
  • Expert at both strategic conceptualization both at a local level and enterprise level as well as operational execution
  • Proven ability to build relationships cross-functionally and lead toward common goals
  • Full COVID-19 vaccination is an essential job function of this role. Candidates located in states that mandate COVID-19 booster doses must also comply with those state requirements. Preferred Qualifications:

  • Advanced degree
  • Financial experience in functions like underwriting or actuarial
  • Solid analytical skills; ability to quickly aggregate and analyze information and conclude
  • Solid leader and motivator with the ability to mentor talent within the organization; able to provide work direction; able to attract and retain top talent

Colorado, Connecticut or Nevada Residents Only: The salary range for Colorado/Connecticut/Nevada residents is $174,600 to $332,200. Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to education, work experience, certifications, etc. In addition to your salary, UnitedHealth Group offers benefits such as, a comprehensive benefits package, incentive and recognition programs, equity stock purchase and 401k contribution (all benefits are subject to eligibility requirements).
