Job description
We are currently recruiting for PIA Test, Rod, and Rope Cable Engineers / Teams with work starting end of Aug and Fibre Cabling (crews) also required. This is a new contract covering initially Cambridge and East Anglia so we are now looking to commence interviews.
Positions are permanent or CIS both with a fully expensed vehicle per crew. If you are partially qualified/ Trained but have experience we will consider putting you through the required training. About the Job.
To build and maintain new and existing Core and Distribution Fibre Networks, specifically fibre cable.
You will be involved with the rod and roping of ducting and then the installation of fibre Cable ready for the commencement of Splicing by other Engineers . Working with client-supplied documentation to record installation routes. So, we are looking for people or crews who have experience in these tasks and possibly with a wider experience that can be used as we take on a broader scope in the coming months. The role requires one lead and One cable puller per team , so we are open to application for individuals or crews. (No Agencies) We are also able to accept trainees and we can provide the relevant training required the wage will reflect this
Ability to work within a team
Be able to prioritise, organise, manage tasks & work out of hours – unsociable hours if required
Sound practical knowledge and experience of Underground Cabling, Rodding & Roping ducts and fibre cabling after
Experienced in the use of a cable pulling assist Winch if required ( Not essential)
Excellent communicator. Good observational and analytical skills and a good eye for detail.
Well-presented and have good presentation skills.
Must have good IT skills – specifically Microsoft Excel and Word.
Must be holding a Full Valid Driving License, towing license a significant advantage
NRSWA Qualified – SLG unit 2
PIA tickets Essential SA002, SA010 (Or City & Guilds medium risk confined space), SA001 (If Cablers )
Preferred but not essential- Emergency First Aid at Work, K8 (Hand Rodding), N28 Network Cabling , SA001
Towing license a significant advantage
