About the position We are looking for a Network Security Engineer preferably located in Houston, Texas or University Park, Illinois, although we are very open to a fully remote position within the continental USA. The Network Security Engineer position will maintain and support the network, security, servers, and telecommunications at all Verdant sites. This position will also be the primary backup for system administration duties.

Essential Job Responsibilities

• Oversee the build out and migration of the network at all Verdant site locations.
• Verify that servers are properly maintained and migrate servers to the cloud.
• Ensure that IT security is property utilized and maintained for the organization.

Requirements

• 3+ years of experience working with Cisco, Palo Alto, and/or Fortinet solutions
• 3+ years of hands-on experience with Cisco and Extreme routers and switches
• 3+ years of experience with network design and implementation on a large scale
• Experience with Cisco Security products such as AMP, Umbrella
• Experience in performing migrations and upgrades on various platforms
• Familiar implementing wireless networks with Extreme Aerohive
• Ability to identify gaps and propose solutions
• Ability to lead others within a team and help create a growing department
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Excellent planning and strategizing skills
• Proven success and prior experience working with a growing organization
• Independent and self-motivated
• Travel Requirements: As needed and up to 10%. Will need to travel to all Verdant sites in the US, UK and Germany.
