JOB SUMMARY:
The job responsibilities include, Design Installation, removal, maintenance, configuration and troubleshooting company and customer premise equipment. There is an On-Call rotation for this position.
JOB SPECIFIC REQUIREMENTS:
- Installation of company and customer equipment in a professional manner.
- Understanding of AC and DC power requirements.
- Clean hardware mounting and wiring practices.
- SIP hosted phone system, site surveys, configuration, drawings, installation and troubleshooting.
- Calix E7/C7, Pannaway, AFC, Fujitsu, DWDM, installation, configuration, and troubleshooting.
- Switch and router, installation and support.
- IPTV headend equipment – installation, configuration and troubleshooting.
- Learn and understand test equipment used by Empire Access.
- Adtran/Polycom equipment test, troubleshoot and install.
- Install, configure and troubleshoot company wireless and customer equipment.
- Soft-switch, SBC, LCR – switching, provisioning and call flow troubles.
- Fiber cleaning, testing and troubleshooting.
- Help create documentation for training employees and customers when needed.
- Understand and carry out technical statement of work documentation.
- Provide appropriate training and assistance to Empire employees
- Evaluate customer networks for performance, scalability, and security.
- Work with internal technical teams and vendor for product placement and feature improvements for reliability, availability, and serviceability.
- Work closely with engineers and other Empire Access staff to troubleshoot, test and install for deployments of new products and features.
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with internal employees, customers & “vendor” technical teams.
- Understand and complete work orders, service orders and trouble tickets.
- Update records for completed jobs
- Midnight – maintenance and upgrades occur for remote as well as onsite support for Employees and customers of Empire Access.
- Office/POP, Battery, HVAC, copper and fiber panel maintenance and up keep.
- Any other task needed to provide, enhance or improve production at Empire Access.
EDUCATION:
- 2 or 4 year degree in the networking field – preferred.
- CISCO CCNA – preferred.
EXPERIENCE:
- FTTH (GPON and Active E knowledge and RFC 2544 and Y.1564 testing for Metro Ethernet.
- Experience in Network monitoring and troubleshooting.
- Networking or vendor training or certifications. (Cisco, Adtran, Calix, Polycom, Fujitsu, EXFO, HVAC, AC/DC Power, Cable Management)
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills are required.
