Fiber Cable Splicer (Telecommunication)

H&M is also a founding member of the ET&D Partnership, a collaborative industry partnership working to reduce fatalities, injuries, and illnesses in the construction industry is currently recruiting for Cable Splicers in the Lakewood, CO area to join our telecommunications team.

The project will involve a majority micro fiber 200 micron project, with some 200 to 250 micron splicing occurring.

Qualification:

• Must be able to identify colors
• Experienced fiber splicer with ISP and OSP knowledge.
• Must have knowledge and experience building ISP cabinets, FDPs and dressing cable throughout ladder racks to Telcordia standards. This position will be working in a fast paced environment while ensuring quality and safety is at the forefront.
• Experience with loose tube and ribbon fiber
• Experience with micro fiber
• Proficiency building splice cases (CommScope, coyote, corning)
• Ability to dress in cable to industry standards in data center and central office setting.
• Ability to trouble shoot using OTDR and splice plans
• Comprehension of fiber optic networks
• Experience with Arc GIS (preferred)
• Ability to read and understand splice diagrams and create splicing as-builts
• Fiber optics certification (preferred)
• OTDR certification (preferred)
• Maintain proper inventory on vehicle based on work assignment
• Possess a valid driver’s license
• Willingness to learn new skills

• Must be able follow verbal and written communications.
• Must perform all duties in a safe, efficient manner and follow safety guidelines and wear personal protective equipment at all times.
• Able to lift 50 Pounds.
• Able to work outdoors in all Environments (Heat, cold, and Rain)
• Must have positive can do attitude.
• Basic knowledge of Microsoft Windows.
