Your Impact:

At Jacobs our Telecommunications Project Managers lead professional teams in the design of some of the most complex and resilient network systems on the planet. This position will direct the entire design process, in conjunction with other disciplines, to produce robust solutions for our clients. The perfect candidate will be a thought leader in the Telecommunications industry and will have a broad knowledge of design efforts in Commercial Construction, Airports, Energy, Data Center, Healthcare, Public Safety, Higher Education, and all levels of Government and Defense. This role will be instrumental in the success of the entire organization, and will be a critical junction of collaboration and innovation, expanding the Jacobs commitment to Challenging today and Reinventing tomorrow.

Characteristics you should be able to demonstrate include: Anticipating internal or external business challenges and mitigating the impacts, the ability to develop functional strategies within the organization, operate with broad knowledge of the entire design process beyond the Telecommunications discipline, and be fluent in design standards that will be unique to the varied client base that entrusts Jacobs with its business.

Typical duties will include:
Design concept creation, preliminary assessments, team assignments, collaboration with clients and Jacobs leadership, proposal development and support, interface with Global Delivery programs, and help develop junior engineer staff.
May work on several concurrent projects, and be called upon to provide specialized technical support for other business units and geographical regions.
Provide resilient technical design solutions including security, fire alarm, voice, data, audio/visual, and other Telecommunications systems
Will be responsible to complete project assignments with minimal supervision and direction, leading to World-class solutions for our Global client base.

Here’s What You’ll Need:

  • Bachelors’ degree, or equivalent experience
  • BICSI Credentials as an RCDD
  • PMI Credentials as a PMP
  • Other industry credentials and programs commensurate with experience
  • Progressive professional experience designing network and communication systems for buildings, infrastructure, manufacturing, and industrial facilities
  • Advanced technical education or coursework
  • Familiarity and demonstrated knowledge of ANSI/TIA and BICSI standards
  • Experience with Revit and other 3D modeling software
  • Experience with AutoCAD and/or Microstation as well as Microsoft Office programs such as Excel, Word, and Outlook
  • Strong interpersonal and time management skills
  • Self-motivation to coordinate with other disciplines and customers
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Proficiency in communicating technical information to engineering and related staff as well as presentation skills to customers
