Pay Range: $ 55,188 – $ 71,746

Location: Norfolk, VA

Duties:

· The incumbent serves as the alternate Node Site Coordinator, technical expert and advisor to the DISA Officer. He/she exercises operational control over associated facilities affecting the continuity and quality of communications.

· Incumbent is responsible for coordinating and maintaining maximum effective operation and use of all circuits, trunks or nodes terminating in, or relayed through, the Transport Facility. In conjunction with node site support, the technical knowledge and advice required of the incumbent, it is necessary for him/her to consciously test and realign circuits, trunks, and node as necessary to ensure proper operation.

· Configuration, testing and operation of current cryptographic devices supporting NC3 IP and legacy serial terminations.

· Technical Control/Patch and Test Facilities in establishing, changing, troubleshooting, invoking alternative routing for nodes, trunks, circuits.

· Conducting Quality Assurance tests on an as-required basis in order to determine the operating condition of circuits, equipment, and systems.

· Initiates actions to correct deficiencies in NC3 terminations, when deficiencies cannot be corrected, determines the malfunction or failure, isolating to a specific component when possible, and initiating a work order to electronic technicians or system administrators for repair and/or adjustment.

· Evaluate civilian watch standing team ensuring proficiency in troubleshooting techniques and equipment operation. In many cases, the personnel assigned to the Technical Control Facility are military trainees. The incumbent assists in conducting on-the-job training to qualify these trainees as technical controllers.
