Department: Sales for Eastern Oregon Telephone in Hermiston

Reports To: Director of Operations

FLSA Status: Exempt

Job Summary

Primarily sells products and services through door-to-door solicitation to new and existing residential customers.

Major Duties and Responsibilities

  • Solicits residential customers through door-to-door contact within the company footprint
  • Explains products and services available to potential customer via visual aids, and obtains customer orders
  • Accurately completes all necessary paperwork for new orders in a manner consistent with quality control guidelines, including sales orders and sales reporting
  • Meets established objectives and sales quotas in assigned territories
  • Collects deposits and provides receipts according to Company policy and guidelines
  • Attends and actively contributes to sales meetings and appropriate training as requested by the Sales Manager
  • Performs other duties as requested by the Director of Operations

  • Ability to read, write, speak and understand English
  • Knowledge of cold call sales skills
  • Ability to sell products and services
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality
  • Ability to maintain a high level of self-motivation
  • Ability to organize and prioritize work tasks effectively
  • Ability to travel (including during inclement weather) to and from assigned territories and company facilities using a reliable personal vehicle
  • Ability to work outside for extended periods, during different seasons and/or during inclement weather
  • Familiarity with computer operating systems and Office 365, Word, Excel.
  • Ability to deal with the public in a professional manner
  • Always maintain proper appearance/attitude to represent the companies professionally in the community

Certifications and/or License

  • Valid driver’s license with a satisfactory driving record within Company required standards; automobile insurance as required by law and Company standards
  • Ability to pass a background check and drug test

Preferred Qualifications

  • Knowledge of communications technologies and broadband services
  • Ability to speak and write Spanish
  • Ability to use personal computer and tablet
  • Experience with consumer education on products and services

Education

  • High School Diploma or equivalent work experience

Working Conditions

  • Typically spends approximately 80% of time in an outside environment with exposure to inclement weather. Minimal time in an office environment
  • Must be able to work some evenings and some Saturdays as required
  • Primary locations of opportunity: Hermiston, Umatilla, Irrigon, Boardman, Hood River, Goldendale, Vernonia, Madras

Hours and Compensation

  • This is a full time or part-time position. Full time has a base pay of 28k and a robust incentive structure. Part time compensation to be negotiated.
  • Candidate will start ASAP

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $28,000.00 – $30,000.00 per year
