3 month contract to potentially hire – must be local to Dayton, OH

Looking for someone that has gone through one product development lifecycle. Person will need to coordinate production to meet design requirements of the client. Coordinate stakeholders for productive conversation with the client as needed. APQP experience helps!

Plans, directs, and coordinates all Wire Harness Project activities thorough communication for existing or newly assigned projects to ensure that project goals are accomplished within the prescribed time frame to meet requirements of TIS-Wire Harness Plants, customers, and suppliers. This includes but is not limited to developing Project Plans in the appropriate PM Tool, supporting documentation, the management of all customer related activities; and any ancillary new program support as required. Interaction with customers and internal employees will be required by performing the following duties personally or through subordinates. Typically, a Project Manager will be assigned to multiple concurrent projects of a routine nature, a small number of projects of moderate complexity, or a mixture.

  • Develops, clarifies and manages the scope, timing and deliverables of the project, that achieves targeted outcomes and requirements
  • Ensure project requirements are achieved in a timely fashion and within budget guidelines
  • Assembles project team, identifies needed resources, assigns responsibilities and develops timeframes to facilitate successful completion of project activities and deliverables (including customer and internal deliverables)
  • Determines project costs/ensures delivery on time and within budgetary guidelines
  • Ensures compatibility and consistency with existing wire harness manufacturing process, component and equipment standards
  • Performs cost/benefit analysis of actions and initiatives
  • Communicates all pertinent project information and changes in an efficient and timely manner
  • Manages Design Changes effectively with the customer and internal teams to assure all deliverables are achieved on time and within budget
  • Is responsible for developing and maintaining project plans, tasks, activities, design changes and gate reviews within the TIS – Wire Harness PM Tool (WRIKE)
  • Highlights timing risks and discrepancies in customer and internal milestones and escalates until situation is resolved.

Travel/Shift Requirement: Occasional travel may be required (domestic and international to Mexico, Europe and Asia)

Skills and Abilities Required

  • Demonstrated experience assembling automotive project schedules and Gannt charts that meet industry standard APQP and PPAP requirements
  • Ability to effectively meet customer’s needs, build productive internal and external stakeholder relationships and take responsibility for customer satisfaction and loyalty.
  • Ability to communicate (verbally and in writing) effectively with stakeholders and senior business leadership of departments and customers
  • Demonstrated ability to identify and mitigate risks
  • Ability to identify, analyze and resolve issues and conflicts regardless manager’s authority (or lack thereof) with the involved parties
  • Ability to escalate to the appropriate person, at the appropriate time, and in the appropriate manner
  • Ability to project manage multiple parallel projects
  • Ability to understand the financial impact of decisions on the profitability of the project
  • High degree of accuracy and attention to detail
  • Proficiency with basic office applications
  • Proficiency with TIS – Wire Harness PM Tool (WRIKE)
  • Ability to learn new systems and software required to complete essential duties

Education and Experience Required

  • Bachelor’s degree (B.A. or B.S.) from four-year college or university 3 to 6 years of relevant experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • 2-4 years experience as a member or leader on an automotive Tier 1 program team for product development
  • Demonstrated experience of APQP and PPAP requirements for automotive product and process development

Job Types: Part-time, Contract

Pay: From $280.00 per day
