Low Voltage Cabling Technician

SUMMARY: Beacon Technologies, Inc is seeking Low Voltage Cabling Technicians. Responsible for the installation of structured cabling systems including but not limited to Cat3, Cat5e, Cat6, Cat 6A, Coaxial and Fiber Optic Cabling. The position also includes the termination, testing and troubleshooting of the structured cabling system.

JOB DESCRIPTION

• Installation of cabling in new construction projects or existing buildings
• Cable Terminations – RJ45, Coax, 110 punch-down and fiber connectors
• Testing and troubleshooting
• MDF / IDF Room Build outs. (Equipment racks, ladder rack, grounding, etc.)
• Installation of cabling pathways (J-Hooks, conduits, etc.)

PROFESSIONAL SKILLS

• BICSI Certifications preferred but not required
• Must be knowledgeable in structured cabling systems and other IP technologies
• Outside Plant and Aerial Cabling experience a plus
• Experienced in the operation of scissor and boom lifts

QUALIFICATIONS

• Must be knowledgeable in various wiring configurations and terminations
• Technical skills and knowledge of telecommunications industry and/or installation
• Good communication skills for effective interaction with internal & external customers
• Experience in a fast-paced construction environment
• Must work well with little supervision individually and in a team setting
• Ability to lift/move equipment and tools weighing up to 50 lbs.
• Perform work in unusual and sometimes difficult positions such as climbing ladders, scaffolding and high lift equipment up to 40 feet, working in crawl spaces, above ceilings, etc.
• Must have a valid driver’s license and a clean driving record
• Must pass drug-screen and background check

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $15.00 – $26.00 per hour
