SUMMARY: This position will be responsible for all Network and Telecommunication activities. This individual will be responsible for handling problem recognition, research, isolation, resolution and follow-up for routine user problems. The position will also ensure that all enterprise applications are properly configured, administered and performing as required for operational expectations.
ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES: The following responsibilities are representative of those required for this position. All of the duties may not be required and additional duties may be assigned.
Responsibilities for this position will include customer support, network and VoIP/SIP administration. The following is a breakdown of time spent on job duties:
- 30% – Recommend, implement, report, and monitor solutions based around network technologies such as switching, routing, and firewall
- 20% – Recommend, implement, report, and monitor solutions based around VoIP/SIP technologies
- 50% – Provide great customer service while recording and resolving end-user service requests
Responsibilities Include:
- Assists customers in resolving basic technical problems utilizing excellent customer service
- Enters tickets into the call tracking program while ensuring the information is accurate and prioritized correctly
- Analyzes, implements, and maintains VoIP configurations around telecommunication platforms
- Generates monthly reports and assist users with creating reports on telecommunications activity
- Documents and maintains telecommunication process flows
- Establishes network environment by designing system configuration; directing system installation; defining, documenting, and enforcing system standards
- Responsible for assisting in delivery and operational support of enforcement policies across a Zero Trust security model
- Responsible for maintaining service availability of mission critical services ensuring 24/7 up-time on network equipment; maximizing network performance; troubleshooting network problems and outages; scheduling upgrades
- Maintains documentation and backups of all network equipment including network diagrams
- Displays advanced knowledge and understanding of networking protocols and technologies such as Routing, Switching, Wireless and Security
- Proactively monitors network performance and capacity utilizing network tools and logs to resolve issues.
- Trains and/or supports users in the use of hardware and/or authorized software
- Tests and evaluates computer hardware, software and/or system performance
- Provides excellent customer service to all external and internal customers and maintains a good working relationship with internal co-workers
- Performs other duties as assigned
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
Associate’s degree with an emphasis in Computer Science, Computer Information Systems or closely related data processing course work. Two years of professional or technical experience a plus
QUALIFICATIONS
- Experience with the setup, configuration, upgrade, maintenance, and troubleshooting of desktop PC hardware, laptops, tablets, smart phones and printers in a networked environment required
- Has a solid understanding of Windows-based operating systems; inter-process communication, devices and how device drivers operate, as well as file system concepts
- Familiarity with fundamental networking/distributed computing environment concepts, AD domains, DNS, and understands basic routing concepts
- Ability to train and assist users in the use of computer hardware and software
- Ability to troubleshoot and resolve routine hardware and/or software problems
- Basic understanding of Telecommunication systems using route lists, patterns, hunt groups, and ACDs.
- Has a solid understanding of TCP/IP protocols and troubleshooting experience using Wireshark, Snoop, Tcpdump, and Netflow
- Has a solid understanding of QoS/CoS policies and priority queuing
- Basic understanding of enterprise networking architectures, routing, switching, and firewalls
- Basic understanding of networking concepts such as IP SLA, OSPF, ACL, NAT/PAT, VCP, and VLAN
- Must exemplify good communication, interpersonal and organizational skills
