Council Rock is looking for a motivated, disciplined, and professional Tower Foreman to join our team of telecommunications experts. We are looking for an individual that values hard-work, trust, and wants to be part of a team that values the same. This position would be the lead of a Tower Crew.

Location: Rochester, NY & Various Cities in New York State

Compensation: Salary and Benefits (Compensation is based on experience)

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Perform installation, inspection, and maintenance services for wireless radio and antenna systems on towers, rooftops, and other elevated structures in conjunction with Tower Technician(s).

  • Perform ground-based civil scopes when applicable in support of radio systems cabling, grounding, interconnects and/or conduits.
  • Foster a strong team environment.
  • Complete work efficiently, timely, and to a high level of detail.
  • Identify and work with all required materials, tools, and equipment needed to complete assigned work.
  • Adhere to Council Rock’s and industry safety and quality control requirements at all times; Ensure all assigned personnel adhere to the same.
  • Train, direct, and assist crew personnel with effective completion of assigned tasks.
  • Dedication to continued training and professional development.
  • Maintain equipment and vehicles in a clean and operational condition at all times.
  • Interact professionally with client representatives and build strong client relationships.
  • Ability to read, comprehend, and follow written and verbal instructions.
  • Ability to read, comprehend, and follow construction drawings.
  • Working under minimal supervision is a requirement for reliable performance.
  • Ability to effectively manage time while completing SOWs
  • Follow all OSHA and company safety procedures and policies.
  • Availability to work in all weather conditions, including snow, rain, and changing temperatures.
  • Supervise and assist in the installation of all aspects of wireless cell site RF antenna installations.
  • Lead tower top work and ensure that a quality and safe installation has been performed, including rigging, hoisting, landing, fastening, etc.
  • Observe and direct work to ensure the highest level of safety and quality control requirements are upheld.
  • Perform tower inspections, inventories, and audits.
  • Review all documentation to prepare for installation, assemble the necessary materials, determine required installation methods, tools, and equipment
  • Identify and select cables, ropes, blocks, and tackle by weight and size of load to be moved.
  • Maintain equipment and material inventory on crew truck(s).
  • Collect and review all on-site closeout documentation and submit it to the appropriate parties per the deliverable timelines.
  • Coordinate with the site owner representative for site-related activities and maintain a good working relationship with each.
  • Provide training to crew members as required.
  • Ability to hold weekly safety meetings.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Job Requirements:

  • Valid driver’s license.
  • Four to seven years of tower climbing experience.
  • Two to four years supervising a crew.
  • Must have an understanding of the installation and testing of the latest technologies.
  • Ability to read site installation documentation and build accordingly.
  • Working knowledge of safety, construction, and quality assurance standards and regulations in the tower industry.
  • Fall protection training.
  • OSHA 30 Construction Training.
  • First Aid and CPR certification.
  • Certified climber.
  • Rescue training.
  • Train the trainer certified preferred.
  • Working knowledge and understanding of diagnostic test equipment (Sweep/Fiber/PIM testing, etc).
  • Must be flexible to work overtime as needed.
  • Must be comfortable climbing and working at heights on towers, rooftops, water towers and other elevated structures up to 500ft.
