The position is in the Boardman, OH market at our full-service, award-winning Holiday Inn Boardmanhotel. As the Catering Sales Manageryou will ensure all our client meetings and events run smoothly. Acting as both brand ambassador and trusted partner, you will connect with the hotel’s internal teams to deliver a seamless experience for the planners, hosts and meeting attendees. The CSM plans and coordinates meetings, social events, conferences and may be asked to complete special projects. This role supports the Director of Sales and all group room sellers in the sales office by servicing groups with events and stand-alone events. The CSM promotes services for future group business and acts as the liaison between customers and the hotel by directing each department within the hotel as to their specific role in the on-site events. Successful achievement of this goal will ultimately result in a major contribution to the re-booking and new bookings of group business for future dates. Maximizes revenues through effective up-selling of menus and services.

Some responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to:

· Exceeding customers’ expectations with great knowledge and genuine service.

· Demonstrate professional friendly disposition with a customer focus while maintaining a professional image at all times through communication, appearance and dress.

· Ability to acknowledge, problem-solve, and coordinate decisions in a professional manner.

· Plan, up-sell and detail programs with clients including; verification, modification of space requirements, times, equipment, menus, themes, and decorations.

· Conducts day to day activities in accordance with the CSM brand standard expectations.

· Must be knowledgeable and understand all operations of the meeting space, to include Food and Beverage, Audio Visual pricing, telecommunications, and guest rooms accommodations

· Ensure up-selling techniques are used during all planning stages of event where appropriate to increase hotel revenues.

· Function as liaison between client and internal departments by conducting daily de-briefs with on-site event planners, pre and post event reviews with clients while coordinating and collaborating with the banquet and food and beverage teams.

· Meet and greet each guest group and catering on-site person at the beginning, during breaks and end of the function and address any concern/ issues.

· Conduct and/or join in on site tours with Sales Managers to provide expertise on the hotel’s meeting facilities and food and beverage options.

· Maintain client files with updated activity information daily in accordance with established departmental policies and procedures.

· Review daily postings of charges to master accounts of clients, resolve any discrepancies, process any adjustments. Final bill review before presenting to the client.

· Creates, distributes and revises BEOs in a timely and efficient manner.

· Conducts weekly BEO meetings with Sales, food & beverage and banquet teams.

· Attend required meetings.

· Work a flexible schedule – weekdays, weekends and evenings as demand and service dictates and directed by Director of Sales.

Candidates should meet the following requirements:

· Minimum of two years of Hotel Food and Beverage, Banquet Operations and/or Hotel Sales experience.

· Must have a keen eye for detail.

· Proficiency in Office 365 (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Publisher), SalesPro, and Opera.

· Professional and polished presentation, with the ability to build and maintain relationships.

· Results oriented and enthusiastic and must have extremely high standards in all areas and a passion for guest service.

· Multi-tasking skills are a must in our fast-paced environment.

· Excellent oral and written communication skills.

· Flexible hours required including nights, weekends and holidays.
