Accounting Specialist (Telecommunications)

Locus Recruiting is searching for an Accounts Payable/Accounting Specialist for our client

Job Title: Accounts Payable/Accounting Specialist

Target Pay Rate: $27-30/hr. ($60K if converted to permanent)

Location/Remote: Remote or hybrid

Estimated Length of Contract: This is a 3-6 month contract position with the opportunity for conversion to a full time employee

Telecommunications experience is a huge Bonus

Start Date: ASAP

Position Description

This position is responsible for managing invoice validation. Invoice validation requires account reconciliations, contract or PO research in Salesforce.com, understanding of balance sheet accruals, and vendor communications. .

Responsibilities

· Reconcile/identify discrepancies in network operations billing vs the expense inventory.

· Responsible for identifying cost reduction opportunities, and escalating opportunities to management.

· Review and approve vendor invoices for payment with appropriate expense mapping and accurate General Ledger coding

· Interpret and compare invoiced services against quoted contract rates and internal expense inventory.

· Track and resolve billing disputes/discrepancies with various carriers; present escalation issues, status reports and findings to management.

· Account reconciliation: research past due balances to ensure they are valid and cleared in a timely manner.

· Understand and interpret Master Service Agreements, Service Orders, and other various agreements.

· Work with cross-functional teams within the organization for validation of costs and accurate Salesforce data.

· Provide financial support and data analysis as needed.

Qualifications

· Bachelor’s degree (B. A.) from four-year College or university; or five years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

· Knowledge of Salesforce.compreferred, but not required.

· Accounting/accounts payable experience preferred.

· GAAP understanding with an emphasis on accrual accounting.

· Excellent communication skills.

· Curiosity and creative problem-solving skills

· Willingness to take on additional responsibilities as needed.

Job Types: Full-time, Contract

Pay: $27.00 – $30.00 per hour
