Aerial Linesperson – Telecommunications

Central Tel (Central Utility Services) is recruiting a Full-Time Aerial Lineperson – Telecommunications to be a part of our growing team.

Central Utility Services is located on Vancouver Island however the experienced candidate we are seeking will have the ability to negotiate a reporting location within the Island or mainland of British Columbia.

Responsibilities

· Safely operate bucket trucks and/or other types of person-lifts

· Pole placing, transfer and removal experience

· Load and unload equipment and cable trailers

· Install and repair aerial and underground telecommunication lines

· Change and install anchors

· Hang strand and fibre/cable via line truck or via pole climbing

Qualifications required

· Preference will be given to experienced candidates with telecommunication experience

· Ability to climb utility poles using climbing gear and rigging

– Experience operating and performing work in a bucket truck and/or other types of person-lifts

· Must be comfortable working at heights and outdoors in all weather conditions

· Proficient in new build and pole transfers; knowledge in building strand, lashing, pole transfers & grounding

· Ability to communicate clearly and collaborate with multiple project stakeholders, interpret stakeholders’ needs, and identify solutions

· Must have a class 3 valid driver’s license, class 1 is preferred

· Ability to travel as much as required within the Province of BC
