LONG TERM PROJECT
Scope of Work
1. Project Description: Provide Design Management Engineering support services for C&D
Infrastructure capital projects
2. Professional/Technical Title: Associate Project Manager Level I
3. Duration of Service Required: 52 weeks
4. Standard Work Week: Monday through Friday
5. No. of Hours Per Week: 40 hours
6. Hours of Work: 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 P.M
7. Unpaid lunch break
8. Work Location: Field Office or 2 Broadway and work within the 5 Boroughs
9. Reports to: P.E., Design Manager
10. Qualifications Requirements:
One year of full-time satisfactory experience in supervising employees performing project
management work, such as planning, administering, managing, coordinating or expediting, on
engineering and/or architectural and/or landscape architectural projects, or supervising a
construction project with a value of $1,000,000 or more, and either:
1. A baccalaureate degree from an accredited college or university in engineering, engineering
technology, architecture, architectural technology, landscape architecture, business
administration, or public administration, and one year of full-time satisfactory experience in
project management work, such as planning, administering, managing, coordinating, or
expediting, for engineering and/or architectural and/or landscape architectural projects; OR
2. A four-year high school diploma or its educational equivalent and five years of experience as
described in “1” above; OR
3. A four-year high school diploma or its educational equivalent plus any combination of college
or university education and/or experience described in “1” above to make up the equivalent of
five years of education and experience. One year of experience credit will be given for:
(a) each 30 semester credits of college or university education leading to a bachelor’s degree from
an accredited college or university in engineering, engineering technology, architecture,
architectural technology, landscape architecture, business administration or public administration
(b) a Master’s degree from an accredited college or university in one of the disciplines described
in “1” above; or
(c) a valid New York State license as a Professional Engineer, Registered Architect, or Registered
Landscape Architect.
11. Experience Requirements:
a. One year of full-time satisfactory experience in supervising employees performing project
management work, such as planning, administering, managing, coordinating, or expediting,
on engineering and/or architectural and/or landscape architectural projects, OR
b. Supervision of a design project with a value of $1,000,000 or more.
12. Licensing Requirements: None
13. Desired Skills/Training Requirements:
a. One year of satisfactory full-time work in communications or electrical engineering
preferably in Telecom/Network industry – Layer 1 and 2.
b. Knowledge of codes and standards.
c. Project management skills.
d. Ability to coordinate with multiple stakeholders, such as: different engineering
disciplines and other MTA agencies and departments.
e. Advance Skills with MS Office 365 (Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, SharePoint, Teams,
and Word).
f. Advance Skills with Adobe Acrobat Professional.
g. Ability to write and speak clearly in English.
h. Ability to organize project information efficiently and prepare reports.
14. Description of Work:
a. Review and comments on engineering drawings, specifications and contracts.
b. Schedule, conduct and coordinate field visits, surveys, inspections and other TA support
services.
c. Draft reports, minutes, memoranda and other written project-related correspondence
d. Perform other duties as assigned.
Other Work Requirements
One day NYCT Track Safety Training Course Required prior to participate in work on or near the
wayside; must maintain this qualification for the duration of this assignment.
Have safety work boots meeting specification prior to work on or near wayside, at own expense.
Have 30-hour OSHA (Construction) prior to work on or near wayside
