Cable Technician

EXCELTECH TECHNOLOGIES INC- KITCHENER-WATERLOO, ON

EXCELTECH TECHNOLOGIES has been established for more than 20 years with expertise in all aspects of voice, data communications, fiber optics and wireless as well as telephone system installation and maintenance. We are seeking 1 or 2 motivated, team-oriented individuals with experience in the network cabling Industry to join our team. The majority of work is in the Waterloo Region with territories reaching London, Hamilton and the GTA.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Install and service cabling infrastructure for Voice, Data and Audio Visual; includes pre-wiring, installation, termination, testing, and labelling.
• Install network racks and cabinets in server rooms
• Complete detailed and accurate paperwork
• Interact with customers and prospects, ensuring all inquiries are handled professionally
• Perform other tasks as required

QUALIFICATIONS: * Post-secondary education in electrical, telecommunications, or electronics is an asset. Minimum of a high school graduation is mandatory.

• Experience in fiber optics and CAT5E cabling is an asset
• Analytically and Mechanically inclined
• Flexibility to work in a variety of environments, from construction sites to finished corporate offices
• Physical ability to perform job tasks, including pulling cable for extended periods of time
• Comfortable working at heights
• Valid ‘G’ Driver’s License with own vehicle
• Must be available to travel
• Excellent written and verbal communication
• Strong problem solving skills

• Cabling: 1 year (preferred)
