Title: Cable Technician
Location: Columbia SC
Duration: Direct Hire
Scope of Work: Commercial Cabling within various environments (medical, educational, government..)
- Install and terminate cabling per project scope and engineered drawings
- Install, terminate, test, label, and document all types of horizontal & backbone cables to BICSI standards
- Dress and route cable into telecommunications closets, modular furniture, and other work area outlets
- Build out telecommunication and equipment rooms
- Firestop various types of cable penetrations
- Test, troubleshoot, and document test results for cabling
- Maintain all documents related to cabling infrastructure and provide daily progress reports
- Mount equipment while adhering to best practices, industry standards, and manufacturer requirements
- Communicate with Lead Installation Technician and Project Manager regarding work quality, performance, and materials
- Conduct job site surveys, including visual inspections and problem identification
- Familiarity with tools of the trade: Volt Meters, 8P8C Connectors, and Standard Cable Testing Equipment
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints
- Professional, reliable, and highly organized
- Effective verbal and written skills
- Strong proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite of products: Teams, Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
- Maintain a clean driving record
