We have an opening for a cellular industry expert (system or electrical engineer) with broad knowledge of mobile network and systems, including core network, billing system (CDRs), and RAN network (and RF planning). Project-based work to review and interpret CDRs to determine location, movement and activity of a UE, perform analysis and produce short written reports.

Generally, the purpose of the reports are to assist in investigations. Clear report-writing skills are necessary (Report audience may be non-technical or C-Level)

REQUIRED SKILLS: Broad knowledge of BSS, general RF planning, RAN, Charging Data Records, 3GPP protocol. Knowledge of government mandate (CALEA, W911, NG911) and small cell planning helpful.

SQL knowledge / Python or other experience in tools for analysis of big data sets, and engineering and planning of mobility system standards is helpful. Knowledge of current and developing 3GPP wireless specifications.

DESIRED EXPERIENCE: 5+ years recent mobile network employment by Verizon, Sprint/ T-Mobile, or AT&T required.

NOTE: Ongoing projects are generally short term (several days at your own pace) and are appropriate for full-time telecom professionals. This position is not a good match for Network engineers, NOC and QA professionals.
