Central Office Installer

Job Description:
the Level III technician will perform a wide variety of field activities ranging from intermediate to advanced system work including installing, maintaining, and servicing telecommunication equipment for a variety of carriers. The technician should possess industry knowledge of Central Office Installation and Quality Standards contained in AT&T TP-76300/76400/Telcordia GR-1275, AT&T TP76300 and/or Verizon IP72202 Iss. 5-1 core standards.
Responsibilities:

• Work under direct supervision orders, plans, manuals, and technical specifications; gathering equipment, supplies, materials, and tools to successfully complete customer scope of work
• Establishes voice and data staging lab by running, pulling, terminating, and splicing cables; installing telecommunications equipment, routers, switches, multiplexors, cable trays, establishing connections; programming features; establishing connections and integrations; following industry standards; Verifies performance by testing circuits, equipment, and alarms
• Documents network by labeling and routing equipment and cables and recording configuration diagrams and specifications.
• Maintains customer rapport by listening to and resolving concerns and answering questions.
• Maintains safe work environment by following codes, standards, and legal regulations.
• Enhances department and organization reputation by accepting ownership for accomplishing new and different requests and exploring opportunities to add value to job accomplishments.

Skills and Abilities Required:

• Requires strong technical knowledge of current Network products with minimal training performed and recorded on Safety, Business Code of Conduct, Quality assurance and Electrostatic Discharge (ESD)
• Experience with Ciena 6500 DWDM Platform is a MUST
• Extensive travel is required (Per Diem offered)
• Infinera certifications are a major plus
• Minimum 4 years experience or equivalent as determined by the installation supplier
• Formal “Basic Installation training course is required (or equivalent on the job training)
• Ability to read and understand technical drawings and documentation
• Demonstrated knowledge of the phases of product installation
• Familiar with AT&T TP-76300 /76400 / Telcordia GR1275 and Verizon IP72202 installation standards.
• Expert Level in Central Office Transport DWDM

100% travel position
100% of travel paid for
away anywhere from 2-4 weeks at a time and then flown home by Ledcor
