Our client in the telecommunications industry is looking for a Chief Accountant to join their Montreal team. The ideal candidate would have 5+ years of experience in a similar role.

Salary : 40$-60$/h depending on experience
Duration : 12 month contract with possibility of permanence afterwards

Responsibilities

Under the supervision of the Director of Finance, you will be responsible for the following tasks:

Organize, plan, direct and control the accounting activities of the company including:

  • control of the bookkeeping
  • analysis of accounts
  • monitoring of banking and accounting operations
  • preparation of monthly financial statements
  • adjustments to the general ledger at the end of the month and end of the year
  • inter-company accounts

Supervise the accounting team

Manage the various files related to annual audits and tax declarations

Conduct initial assessments of internal controls

Ensure proper maintenance of analyses of general ledger accounts

Validate monthly bank reconciliations

Coordinate financing needs and banking relationships

Other special projects.

Qualifications

  • Minimum 5 years of relevant experience in a similar role
  • French environment
  • Functional English
  • Excellent knowledge of Excel
  • Excellent stress management
  • Demonstrate analytical mind and attention to detail
  • Demonstrated ability to implement and/or improve different processes
  • Likes to evolve in a changing environment
  • Strong sense of priorities
