Hoe

You formulate KPN’s strategy, support projects to drive the strategy forward and make sure the strategy gets executed – always in cooperation with at least another team member plus other colleagues in the business (B2C, B2B, Technology&Digital) and from Finance.

By formulating a clear strategy, you make sure the whole company develops in the right direction. As a result, KPN will offer better services to its customers, while at the same time being an interesting investment for its shareholders.

Waar

2-3 days per week in the office (mostly Amsterdam office near station Sloterdijk, or Rotterdam office on Kop van Zuid) and the rest of the days from home. It is also possible that you may have to travel to other KPN locations.

You will work in KPN’s Corporate Strategy & Transformation Office, consisting of :20 colleagues. Your team members come from diverse backgrounds, with experience ranging from a few years to more than 30 years in KPN; from consulting to banking to the military to kick-boxing champions; from consumer to business to technology teams, and so on. The Strategy & Transformation Office leads strategic and transformational projects as part of the strategic agenda of KPN. In addition, it also supports the Board and Board members on strategic topics and defining the direction of KPN in the long term.

As a Strategist within KPN’s Strategy & Transformation Office you are focussed on achieving sustainable business results and are responsible for a strategic project together with a Project leader. – You will clearly define the objectives and scope of the project and determine the roles and corresponding responsibilities between the Strategy & Transformation Office and other stakeholders (e.g. Business owners, Finance, Data & Analytics) – You will be involved in problem solving, analysis, research etc to lead the team to the deliverables – You will work closely with senior management and specialists to create alignment and generate buy-in throughout the organization – You will also drive the project to ensure the highest quality and timely delivery of results

For this vacancy of Corporate Strategist at KPN, we would like to get to know you if you meet the following requirements:

• Strong academic track record, preferably with a high quantitative component
• Minimum of 7 year experience at a top-tier consulting firm, investment banking (e.g. M&A) or in a strategic position at a large corporate
• Proven project leadership and team management skills
• Strong knowledge and expertise of the telecommunications industry (experience in B2C is a plus) and additional knowledge of adjacent industries (Media and/or Technology) is a plus
• Good communicator with strong stakeholder management skills and the ability to work on different levels across the organization
• Advanced analytical and conceptual skills (e.g. financial modelling and Excel) with a strong attention to detail

Our team consists of :20 colleagues (:30% female), who have work experience ranging between 2-30 years, both inside and outside KPN (e.g. in strategy consulting). We are a group of driven professionals, who all work and grow together, and come together to support everyone in the team on their professional journey.
