Digital Carpenters – Fort Stockton, TX

Digital Carpenters is looking for Data Center Technicians to help with the deployment and operation of our state-of-the-art data center in Fort Stockton, Texas, that utilizes immersion technology to maximize server performance. As the foundation of our company, data center technicians will deploy, monitor, and troubleshoot the latest server hardware. This position is hourly with the potential to transition to a full-time position with benefits. On-site training will be provided.

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Install network and power cables as directed
• Responsible for the preparation, installation, configuration, and monitoring of servers
• Frequently monitor performance graphs to identify underperforming servers
• Troubleshoot server performance issues and review server logs for root cause analysis
• Create and maintain documentation during troubleshooting
• Monitor system alerts and emergencies
• Follow protocol to identify emergency origins and escalate issues to management
• Frequently monitor system temperature, pressure, etc. to proactively highlight issues
• Monitor and maintain general upkeep of the facility
• Provide support to other employees and management as needed
• Perform other tasks as needed

Required Skills:

• Must be able to lift 50 pounds of computer/network equipment when necessary – This job is physically demanding at critical times such as server deployment
• Highly motivated to learn and work with minimal supervision
• Flexibility to readily respond to changing circumstances and expectations – open to new ideas and procedures
• Strong organizational skills
• Basic computer literacy

Job Type:

• Contract to hire with the possibility of conversion to full time
• 12-hour day/night shifts for 24/7 coverage

Experience:

• Computer networking: 1 year (Preferred)
• Network installation: 1 year (Preferred)
• Telecommunication: 1 year (Preferred)

License/Certification:

• Forklift Certification (Preferred)

• Overnight Shift (Preferred)

Willingness to travel:
