Fiber Laser Operator

Duties & Responsibilities

· Performs operation, setup and product changeover

· Set up and operate machines, independently with limited supervision

· Familiarity with the fiber laser is ideal e.g. MVD MODEL F8 – 2560 8KW FIBER LASER

· Interpret and follow written instructions, sketches, schedules, drawings and documents.

· With direct oversight, identify machine alignment problems.

· Use precision instruments to check tolerances and quality of parts.

. Familiar with creating programs for fiber laser operations.

· Perform all work in accordance with established standards and safety procedures

· Inspect all raw materials arriving in the department, ensuring gauge and quality

· Operate machine after setup to fabricate all parts, while maintaining production and quality goals

· Adjust the machine as needed to ensure the quality of the parts

· Ensure work area is kept clean and free from hazards

· Plan jobs as scheduled to optimize running through breaks and lunch when possible

· Other duties as assigned

Skills & Qualifications

· Must have at least 3-5 years of CNC fiber laser setup and operation experience

· High school diploma; college diploma or apprenticeship in related field is preferred Able to read and understand manufacturing planning, engineering blueprints, and sketches.

· Must be able to use mathematics relevant to functions.

· Requires familiarity with machine tools, precision instruments and good manual dexterity.

· High school diploma; college diploma or apprenticeship in related field is preferred

· Proficient mathematical/technical skills are required

· Excellent communication skills, both oral and written

· Ability to work in a fast paced, teamwork environment with minimal supervision

· Excellent time-management, and high attention to details

· Ability to be flexible, open and responsive to ongoing changes

· Forklift license would be ideal but not mandatory.
