JOB DESCRIPTION

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Design, develop, and document comprehensive test plans for all IP Network products.
• Coordinate and participate in system level testing activities including test planning, execution, and reporting.
• Perform setup of test scenarios, both hardware and software components, and perform troubleshooting as needed.
• Validate product features end to end from customer point of view including scale scenarios to ensure a delivery ready product.
• Troubleshoot the system and gather enough data to enable root cause analysis
• Evaluate and recommend third-party test tools and other software/hardware products to aid in the system test effort.
• Attend and participate in system-level design and other meetings to gather data and contribute to continuous improvement of test strategy
• Create testing tools and scripts as needed to support system level testing activities.
• Assist our technical writers in the creation of comprehensive product documentation
• Mentor junior staff as needed
• Other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS

EDUCATION:
Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering or Mathematics, or equivalent experience
Master’s Degree is a plus.

TECHNICAL EXPERIENCE

• Must have over 7 years of industry experience in test engineering.
• Experience with IP Networking protocols and standards
• Experience with Linux or other flavors of UNIX
• Experience developing and maintaining comprehensive system test plans
• Knowledge of TCP/IP, UDP, sockets, etc. and experience in network performance testing
• Experience with IP router performance test tools such as Spirent, NetIQ Chariot, IXIA etc.
• Scripting experience with Python is a plus
• Experience in Telecom / Satcom industry is highly preferred.
• Strong verbal and written communications skills.

JOB REQUIREMENTS ADDITIONAL:

• Work Permit Required: US Citizen, Green Card, or EAD
• Must have a BS in IT or Engineering or Computer Science – Information Technology, Math etc. STEM DEGREE
• Must have excellent communication skills
• Needs to have strong testing skills in Hardware, Systems and Networks and strong testing in IP networks
• Needs to have good skills in Python scripting
• Part remote and part on site of if a great candidate we present as fully remote!
