Your Opportunity:
We are looking for a self-motivated, focused, independent and productive individual wanting to be part of an Analytics Foundations team. The ideal candidate aspires to bring together data for BI and analytics. You want to grow your data management skills in a variety of analytics initiatives. As an IT Analyst II, you will provide technical support related to information technology applications either directly to users of the systems or to service delivery functions. The position utilizes agile, project, and service management methodology, applies change management; writes technical documentation; and works closely with other developers, analysts, subject matter experts, vendor support, and IT technical and clinical services peers. The incumbent will ensure reliable operations of information systems, analyze and resolve complex technical problems, design and implement solutions to customer needs, and lead technical project tasks and participate in program initiatives. The incumbent is expected to complete, pass, and apply employer-paid coursed through self-study for vendor BI tools and data models (Epic Cogito) and to be part of after hours weekly on-call rotation This position can be located in Calgary or Edmonton. Requests for remote-hybrid work environment will be considered.
Description:
As an IT Analyst II, you will provide technical support related to information technology applications either directly to users of the systems or to service delivery functions. You will ensure reliable operations of information systems, resolve complex technical problems, find solutions to customer needs, and lead projects and program initiatives. You will be responsible for more advanced application, telecom or technology support duties. You will investigate, diagnose, and resolve complex problems that have typically been escalated several levels before assignment to this position, and will translate business requirements into technical requirements for a solution and recommend a potential approach to the vendor. You will analyse the solution provided to ensure that it fits both technical requirements and business needs. You will also spend time on project or initiative leadership and delivery.

Required Qualifications:
Completion of bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or Information Technology or equivalent.
Additional Required Qualifications:
Experience – 5 years applying progressive knowledge and skill in data integration, warehousing, repositories, business intelligence and analytics; commensurate professional development and continuous professional training in industry best practices, trends, tools, and methodologies. Technical skills – proficient with data integration tools such as Informatica PowerCenter, SSIS/Visual Studio etc.; advanced SQL programming; experience with extracting data from a variety of source types on premise and in cloud ; able to work in UNIX/Linux and Windows environments; proficient data and information architecture skills including relational and dimensional data modeling.; able to automate processes with scheduled jobs, Python etc.; and experience connecting and mapping multiple large disparate data sources into common data structures. Analytical skills – experience performing system, process and data analysis; expert at analyzing complex system and processes for the purpose of debugging technical, process or data failures/issues; able to deconstruct multiple complex data structures and processes. Communication skills – well developed verbal and written communication skills; able to write technical documentation and draw models and workflows; able to articulate issues and solutions; and routinely engages and collaborates to achieve consensus with others.
Preferred Qualifications:
Prefer experience with SQL Server 2019. Redhat Linux, Python, and expertise with multiple data integration tools in diverse environments. Demonstration of independent learning to study, pass, and apply technical and analytical course material while managing job tasks is an asset.
