Your New Tasks

As an IT Domain Architect “P20/20”, you will be deployed as part of the team of our sub-department 21.2 “Architecture and Standards” within department 21 “IT Strategy and IT Planning” in the “P20/20” program. In this role, you will contribute your analytical skills and abilities to the implementation of a future-oriented IT architecture as well as to the implementation of the IT strategy of the police of the state of North Rhine-Westphalia. You will have the opportunity to actively shape the future of the police both in NRW and in the context of the “P20/20” program throughout Germany. As an employee in the information technology area, you will thus have the opportunity to support our police officers in their work and thus ensure greater security in NRW and throughout Germany. You will be the interface between the central architecture management of the NRW police and the federal program “P20/20”.

The Focal Points Of Your Future Tasks Are

IT-architectural collaboration in exciting and IT landscape-shaping subject areas such as AI, GIS, police-related areas such as incident and case processing, etc.

Analysis, evaluation, design and optimization of existing and planned IT architectures.

Definition, provision and further development of architecture guidelines including the associated IT architecture standards, such as reference architectures, technologies, architecture methods and architecture principles

Support of the architecture strategy development for the long-term orientation of the IT of the NRW police in the context of the federal program of the police forces in Germany “P20/20”

Support of the solution architects in the creation of technical solutions in the context of “P20/20”

Coordination and approval of designed technical solutions in the context of “P20/20”

Establishment, execution and management of an Architecture Review Boards (ARBs).

Representation of the LZPD NRW / the Police NRW in state and national committees with IT architecture reference

What You Need To Bring With You

Completed university education (bachelor’s degree or equivalent) in communications technology / computer science / business informatics / communications engineering / information technology or a comparable field of study, or

successfully completed further training as a state-certified technician, and at least 6 years of relevant professional experience in engineering in an activity in the field of the above-mentioned specializations or

Completed vocational training in the field of communications technology / computer science / telecommunications / information technology or in a comparable field with at least 6 years of relevant professional experience in engineering in the field of communications technology / computer science / telecommunications / information technology or in a comparable field.

Desirable Would Be

Extensive knowledge of methods and technologies in the field of software engineering

Good knowledge of modern solution architectures in the area of “information systems” and/or “infrastructure” – High interest in new technologies, e.g. from the areas of machine learning, AI or blockchain

Knowledge of architecture frameworks (e.g. TOGAF) and methods for modeling IT architectures (e.g. UML, ArchiMate).

Confident use of EAM tools (e.g. ADOIT or BiZZdesign), CASE tools and Office applications.

Practical experience in project work

Distinct ability to grasp complex (business and technical) contexts

Analytical and deductive thinking and action

Excellent communication skills in an interdisciplinary environment

Assertiveness

Ability to work in a team

Independent working style, determination to achieve goals

To this end, you should be willing to undergo a security clearance (SÜ 2). This requires that your place of residence has been in the Federal Republic of Germany or a member state of the EU for at least five years

Compensation

Our payment is based on the collective agreement for the public service of the Länder (TV-L). A grouping up to and including pay group 12 is possible.
