L1 Maintenance Engineer (M/F/D)

Main duties are:

• Execution of L1 maintenance engineering activities, for instance for the purpose of analysis of Ground Segment System issues in line with the GSOp Service Management Processes, maintenance performance status assessment (against the KPIs involving L1 maintenance), contribution and participation to engineering boards, contribute to the Availability, Maintainability and Supportability analyses and support the ILS processes;
• Analysis of accomplished L1 maintenance activities: preventive, corrective, adaptive and perfective;

• Analysis of maintenance tickets;

• Analysis of maintenance inputs and participation to observation and anomaly review processes;
• Analysis of maintenance inputs and participation to configuration control processes, and relevant boards;
• Analysis of maintenance inputs and participation to the planning processes, incl. participation to the relevant boards;
• Preparation and coordination of the L1 maintenance validation activities, incl. participation to the relevant boards;
• Support the Maintenance Manager in the assessment, monitoring and control of the performance of the subcontractors;
• Ensure a coherent and coordinate work with the L1 maintenance engineering stakeholders/interfaces (e.g. hosting entities, L2/L3 maintenance teams, Service Provision, Engineering & Evolution, ILS in all the activities);
• Analysis and processing of inputs, as well as contribution to maintenance enhancements aimed at design/services improvements;
• Analysis and processing of maintenance inputs, as well as contribution to, the change request/proposal processes;
• Analysis and processing of, as well as contribution to the project milestone data package review processes;
• Analysis and processing of, as well as contribution to the technical-managerial maintenance documentation and relevant update and maintenance of it.

To be eligible, a candidate must:

• Hold as a minimum a tertiary education degree (Bachelor and/or Master) in Telecommunications / Electronics / Informatics / Aerospace Engineering and relevant work experience;
• Have a proven technical background on satellites engineering and operations and on Satellite Navigation;
• Experience in all phases of Ground Segment lifecycle, preferably actively involved into maintenance engineering tasks in phases B, C, D and E.

• Usage of dedicated maintenance software tools (e.g. ticketing system);
• Usage of Linux command line;
• Possible on-call support;
• Strong problem-solving skills;
• Fast decision making in case of service impacting problems;
• Ability to work in intercultural and geographically distributed work environment;
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills;
• Good interpersonal liaising and communication skills with strong attitude to team work;
• Hands-on mentality and systematic, self-organized, able to prioritize way of working;
• Fluency in written and spoken English, with knowledge of Italian and/or German also appreciated;
• Fluency in standard office automation tools (MS Office, Email, Internet, etc.).
