Job Description:

Lead is responsible for the installation consisting of:

• Material and tool inventory before project starts
• Deliver or set up delivery of equipment and tools
• Complete site walk with customer, complete pre engineering checklist (PEC), complete and submit Method of Procedure (MOP) including detailed MOP, submit change order request (COR) to PM
• Daily reports, labeling equipment, submit red line drawing and End of job (EOJ) documentation
• Safety of all equipment and employees on site

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES include the following:

• PEC : consist of scheduling with customer and engineer to gather all information needed to complete installation. Providing all cable lengths for copper cable, power cable and fiber optics including connection information
• MOP: consist of detailed procedure for work involved including equipment installation, power termination and turn up and testing equipment
• COR: Document all work related items outside scope of work per spec and PEC and submit to PM for cost recovery
• Daily reports: Consist of what work has been completed on project and or any issues on site
• Labeling: Consist of detailed work using excel to create labels for fiber, copper cable, power cable and labeling of all shelfs and equipment
• Red lines: Consist of documenting drawing and specs that have changes from the engineer design and plan
• EOJ: Complete all paper work for job closing and submit red lines EOJ documentation and Power point file with pictures of site
• Safety: insure all safety practices are being followed by all employees

Skillset / Experience:

• High school diploma or equivalent required, technical or college degree preferred
• Minimum of 5 years of central office equipment installation experience
• Clear understanding of AT&T, Telcordia, and/or Verizon Quality Standards
• Knowledge and experience with transport equipment including Ciena, Fujitsu, Cisco, Calix, ADTRAN, Nortel, Nokia, etc.
• Background in fiber optic cable and AC/DC power installation and testing practices
• Ability to read and understand technical drawings and documentation
• Good mechanical aptitude including usage of basic power tools
• Strong organization as well as verbal and written communication skills
• Demonstrated problem-solving skills; ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions
• Must be proficient in MS Excel, MS Word, Power Point, Outlook, IOS and/or Android applications and communication protocols, HyperTerminal, Putty, ProComm plus etc.
